I’m particularly interested in working with clients who identify as:
Those that identify as fat, thick, curvy or have had issues with body image due to weight and/or dysphoria.
Folx who have never had massages before because they are nervous of touch
Trans/non binary/a-gender/gender non-conforming folx who are nervous of touch for reasons linked to their gender identity.
Folx who can’t afford professional massages.
Those that identify with one, some or all of the above and would like to come regularly (I'm happy to work out affordable rates for this too).
I can't work with you if:
You are under 26 weeks pregnant.
Are on perception-affecting prescribed medication that may make you unable to give consent.
Have a flu, high-fever, or infectious virus.
Open Barbers has level access throughout, all furniture can be moved, and their toilet is gender neutral and wheelchair accessible. There is no hoist or changing facility.
My independent practice has 18 steps with a banister into the massage room, with 8 steps up and down to the toilet, which is small and not wheelchair accessible.
If you would like me to see you at home I can bring my massage table and all equipment as long as you have a quiet space we can work in where we will not be disturbed for an additional fee to cover transportation.
*PLEASE NOTE I AM CURRENTLY AWAY FOR WORK, BOOKINGS RESUME DEC 10th 2019*
I have been going for massages semi-regularly the past several years and I can confidently say Ama’s was THE BEST. She has a very kinetic bond in her practice — soothing but intense. A real treat. I would definitely get another one from her! You’re missing out if you haven’t!
I highly recommend Ama's hands, which gave me a Back It Up massage two weeks ago. I went into like a deep zen rest state during and felt like butter afterward. Ama's home massage studio is beautiful and I loved the calming music she played during our session. As someone who's never treated herself to a massage before, I found Ama really affirming and super professional. At a sliding scale cost, it's really a no-brainer. No, I'm not getting paid to promote this.
One of the best massages I've ever had! Wonderful, calming space too. Thank you, Ama! <3
Best massage ever from start to bottom - respectful and warm conversation, real listening about bodies and ooooh, those hands. Could not recommend highly enough!
